Rev. Wade Giffin became pastor at Trinity United Methodist in July of 2016 after serving seven years as Director of the Office Ministry for the West Ohio Conference. His tenure on the Bishop’s Cabinet and executive team allowed him a breadth of knowledge about clergy development, spiritual formation, and church leadership on every level.
Before his time at the Conference, Giffin served as Senior Pastor for seven years at Scioto Ridge United Methodist Church in Hilliard, eight years at Hyde Park Community United Methodist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, and three years at Glenwood United Methodist Church in Columbus. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Xavier University and a Master’s of Divinity degree from United Theological Seminary. His ordination in the United Methodist Church took place in 1991.
Before responding to God’s call to ministry, Wade worked for the Toys R Us Company first in store management and then joined the corporate headquarter team as assistant inventory control manager and director of advertising for the Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana markets. Before retail, Wade worked in the Hospitality Industry primarily in hotels.
Giffin and his wife, Debbie, have been married for 28 years. Debbie provides customer service relations for a family owned logistics/warehousing company located in Groveport. They have two sons, Alex (24) who is the Director of Communications for Scioto Ridge UMC and a student at OSU, and Chris (19) who is attending Capital University’s Nursing Program.
Pastor Wade has an eclectic taste in music. At any one time, you could find him listening to pop, country, rock, gospel or classical music. Giffin also enjoys spending time out-of-doors in a variety of venues and activities and has an affinity for technology and cars.
